Ben Affleck Wants Larry David for a Major Role in Batman Vs. Superman?

Ben Affleck has seen his fair share of backlash after he was announced that he was going to helm the bat cowl, and today, he mentions that he wants his close friend and neighbor Larry David to play a certain role in the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman. Mr. Mxyzptlk is the role Affleck wants to have David play, which is a very random villain to have in this movie.

The image below is who Mr. Mxyzptlk is, just in case you did not know, and he first showed up in Superman’s Action Comics. His special abilities are just pretty much tormenting Superman to great lengths, and the only way you can get rid of him is to trick him into saying his name backwards. He will then return to the 5th dimension where he came from, and you can see this would be a pretty cheesy idea for this movie. Although Affleck has become quite the storyteller, I just do not see why they would need a character like this, and not someone like Brainiac, and of course Luthor. Here is what an insider had to say about the whole thing:

The pair chatted about the idea with earnest abandon throughout the course of Emmy weekend. Larryhas long been courted by the big budget superhero industrial complex, being linked to roles in the Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man sequels nearly a decade ago. But Ben is somebody he trusts and enjoys spending time with and this could be the right situation for Larry to finally appear in a huge-grossing hit film. Fun speculation that it could be for the famed Superman enemy role of Mr. Mxyzptlk could make this piece more exciting, since Larry is a dead ringer for the character. Ben and his personality are taking over this whole production – he could come out of this with a producer credit.

I seriously doubt they will go this direction, and keep the villains more recognizable, as opposed to a villain like this. Let me know what you think about this.
