[Box Office] Did Gravity Dominate the Weekend Again?

gravity-film

Not a shock that Gravity again took the box office gold this weekend again for the second week in a row. What is crazy is that it was $11 million shy of what it made in its opening weekend, which can be quite unheard of. The total the space adventure made was $44. 2 million, bringing the total earnings to $123.4 million.

Captain Phillips came in a strong second place, with $26 million. Both it and Gravity are getting praised by critics and moviegoers out there, so if you have not seen them yet, I highly suggest it. Here is how the rest of the box office panned out:

  1. Gravity – $44.2 million
  2. Captain Phillips – $26 million
  3. Cloud with a Chance of Meatballs 2 – $14.2 million
  4. Machete Kills – $3.8 million
  5. Runner Runner – $3.7 million
