We were all pretty disappointed when Zack Snyder didn’t talk more about Batman Vs. Superman on the live Yahoo event last Saturday. Kevin Smith did his best to try to get the director to talk about the flick, or even give us a clue on what the batsuit will look like. Well it turns out that once the cameras stopped rolling, Snyder had a big surprise to show Smith on his phone. Hear is what Smith had to say about it:
I saw the Batman costume. More than that I saw a picture of him (Affleck) in the costume. Now, I don’t want to give anything away ’cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this, I instantly bear hugged him (Snyder). You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before, and for a comic book fan it was mind bending. I was like ‘Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.’ Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-Men black armor…It was fantastic. I’m already a flag waver for this movie, but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy ****!’ It’s its own thing, man. It’s like we haven’t been down this path at all. I was so elated….Even the hardest core “**** all this” person will be like ‘alright, I’m ready.
Man! Someone hack Snyder’s phone right now! This makes me even more excited for the new batsuit. The fact that it blew Kevin Smith’s mind shows a lot of credibility to how they plan to handle Batman. And he saw Affleck in the suit? That is pretty awesome, but I wonder if it was a mock-up drawing since Affleck will obviously have to bulk up a bit for the role.
My guess is, it will be the gray suit, with either the black cape and cowl, or navy blue. We already got rumors that the suit will resemble the suit in the 2011 graphic novel Batman: Noel shown above, so I am pretty sure it will have a similar look to it. Let me know your thoughts about the costume, and how jealous you are of Smith.
