While Ben Affleck prepares for his role as the Dark Knight in Batman Vs. Superman, he and his buddy Matt Damon want to bring another not so known DC character to the big screen. Mattfleck wants to bring the dark character, Sleeper, to the big screen in hopes to expand the DC universe.

Sleeper is a fantasy noir tale about a law enforcement operative named Holden Carver, who goes undercover to infiltrate a dangerous organization led by the cynical bad guy named TAO. Holden, who also goes by the name The Conductor, ends up getting certain powers from an alien artifact that gives him the ability to heal. He can also transfer and absorb pain from other people, so he is kind of like a cross between Wolverine and Rogue from X-Men, but a lot darker of course.

Now a lot of you might be thinking, “why the hell this character?” If you read my article about Guillermo del Toro mentioning that DC had plans to expand their universe through movies and TV, you know that del Toro himself has the Dark Justice League movie in the works. Sleeper kind of fits in with the dark side of the DC universe, and I think if done right, it will be a pretty awesome flick.

David Goyer will also have a hand in this project, which should give the project some credit because of his work on the Dark Knight trilogy, and Man Of Steel. This movie almost actually happened back in 2008, with Sam Raimi set to produce, and Tom Cruise set to star. The project fell through since they didn’t think it could be pulled off by that crew, but now they have faith that it can with these guys at the helm. No word on who will direct the movie, but with Affleck now being more involved in the DC Universe, we still could end up seeing him direct that Justice League movie we were hearing rumors about before the Batman Vs. Superman news. You never know what could happen. Let me know what you think about all this.
