No longer are we calling it Terminator 5, because it is now becoming obvious that they are simply going to reboot the franchise, instead of trying to save it from the McG disaster, Terminator Salvation. The reboot will take the Star Trek approach of not necessarily starting over, but changing the timeline that we are familiar with. The production almost has its Sarah Connor locked down, but it seems that the title “Terminator: Genesis” has been floating around Hollywood, but it could just be a codename.
The movie will also be casting for John Connor, as well as Kyle Reese. There has been rumors that there might be a TV show involved with the reboot, which makes your wonder if they remember the Sarah Connor Chronicles. That show had potential, but it didn’t quite cut the mustard.
So Terminator: Genesis might be the title to the movie, but something tells me they will stick with the traditional “The Terminator” title to keep things simple. The reboot is set to hit theaters July 2nd, 2015, so I am sure in the coming months we get our cast and synopsis.
