The Wolf of Wall Street – Film Review

thewolfofwallstreet-moviereview

What happens when you get filthy rich working on Wall Street? Sex, drugs, sex, drugs…and sex and drugs. The Wolf of Wall Street stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill, and it is directed by the great Martin Scorsese. The story is about Jordan Belfort, who in his early twenties got a taste of what is was like to be a stock broker, and took that knowledge to create his very own firm and started making millions. Of course, his ways of selling stocks isn’t quite legal.

I absolutely enjoyed The Wolf of Wall Street, from scene to scene. The movie is 3 hours long, and I didn’t feel any bit of that. The story keeps you entertained for everyone of those minutes you are watching. That, my friends, is the mark of a filmmaker who knows what he is doing.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill are top notch in this flick, and there is no doubt in my mind that they will receive Oscar nominations. DiCaprio truly shines playing Belfort, not only with the more dramatic scenes, but spits out the great and funny dialogue without a hitch. Jonah Hill has never been this good, and he was also extremely funny. This is the best we have seen Hill.

The comedy level in this movie is fantastic, and some might think it is a bit over the top with the drug use and nudity, but I felt it kept the storying moving, and I never got bored. Scorsese has his mark all over this one, and brought his legendary, unique storytelling to the picture. Boy did he not hold back to the graphic nature of these men.

If you are not a fan of strong sexual content and heavy drug use, then this movie is probably not for you. If you don’t mind all that madness, then check out The Wolf of Wall Street, and I guarantee you that you will be entertained by it. Check out my video review below if you would like, and let me know if you saw it, and what you thought about it.
