How many of you cringed when you read the words, “Point Break Remake”? I know I did when I first heard they planned on remaking the classic 90’s surfer movie. The original of course starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, and it had its fair amount of cheeseball-ness, but it won our young hearts with classic lines and actin sequences. To me, the movie seemed timeless, but Hollywood doesn’t think any movie is timeless these days, so they are moving forward with the remake, and Gerard Butler is the first to be brought onboard.
Butler will play Bodhi, which was played by Patrick Swayze in the original. No word on who will play Johnny Utah quite yet, and we do know that Keanu Reeves has no ties to this remake, which he verified in a recent interview. Once I find out more about the flick, I will let you know. In the meantime, tell me how much you hate the idea of this movie being remade.
