Arnold Schwarzenegger Talks Terminator: Genesis Script and Production Details

Terminator: Genesis is in heavy pre-production at the moment, and still gathering up the cast to play the characters we already familiar with. Arnold Schwarzenegger sat down with TheArnoldFans.com and talked about the script and production details of the new reboot. Here is what he had to say:

The Terminator. You’re right. We start filming in the middle or in the end of April and it will be a four or four-and-a-half month long shoot. We will be filming it in New Orleans with some of it in San Francisco and maybe a little of it in LA but most of it will be done in New Orleans. I’m really looking forward to that because as you know, the last time when they did The Terminator, it was when I was Governor and so I couldn’t be in that movie but now I’m back again and they are very excited about having me in the film. And David Ellison, who has produced all the big movies lately, has plenty of money to do it well. He’s in partnership with Paramount Pictures who are going to release the movie through their distribution. I’m really looking forward to that and it’s going to come out on July 4th weekend in 2015. The movie preparation is going well. The script is fantastic so I’m really looking forward to this film.

Just what is Arnold going to play? Grandpa Terminator? Flabby man-breast Terminator? Find it hard to believe that he will reprise his role as the killer cyborg given his advanced age. There was a rumor that he might play a character that the T-800s are based off of, but not sure how that will work. That can really be the only role he could play, or they plan on pulling a Jeff Bridges in TRON: Legacy, by making him younger through visual effects. He does mention how the production has the funds to do it right, so maybe a good chunk of fundage is going towards making Arnold young again.

Terminator: Genesis is set to hit theaters July 1st, 2015, and production will be underway very soon, so you know production stills will begin to surface.
