Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Film Review

captain-america-2-review

Captain America returns for an all new adventure, and this concludes the Phase 2 individual movies before we get Avengers: Age of Ultron. Captain America is the only one out of the four that stuck around with S.H.I.E.L.D, so he continues to perform missions for them, but as he is doing so, he continues to try to adapt to modern life, as well as figure out what is going on with S.H.I.E.L.D. Then out of nowhere, the Winter Soldier makes his presence known, and makes it known that he is a perfect match to the super soldier, if not better.

This movie…IS THE BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR SO FAR! Like you guys didn’t know I would declare that, but yes, fantastic. Just a great balance between spy, espionage, and superhero. I consider this Marvel’s Dark Knight, because the filmmakers strived for a political and reality grounding of the story, but still keep the comic book vibe. The story flows perfectly, and there is never a dull moment. When the action is on-screen, it’s in your face. When the story is moving along with dialogue, it’s executed greatly, and I am a sucker for witty and clever dialogue.

Each of the actors reprise their roles just as great as want them too, and I tell you what: Captain America kicks so much ass in this flick, you guys haven’t seen anything yet. Even the added characters, Robert Redford and Anthony Mackie, pull their weight, and I love how they introduced Anthony Mackie’s Falcon character.

If you are a fan of the other movies, you will love this movie. There is a reason why this movie has a 91% rating, because directors John and Anthony Russo achieve what they set out to achieve. Let me know if you check out the sequel, and also hear me nerd out about below in my review video.
