The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has finally hit the big-screen and even though there were tons of mixed reviews out there, Sony plans to move forward in expanding the Spidey universe. We got a handful of Easter Eggs in Spidey 2, and Marc Webb addressed some of the plans they have with Spider-Man 3 and 4, as well as the Sinister Six movie.

I had to talk to Drew Goddard (The Sinister Six writer/director) and make sure these things were going to be played out in the future universe. There are some very specific plans, for example, for [Doc] Ock and for Vulture. Or the man in the hat at the end of the first movie. All those things emerge with varying degrees of emphasis.

Sounds to me like we might see Doc Ock and Vulture in the next movie, even though fans would prefer to get some Venom on-screen done correctly this time. Venom will get his very own movie, which begs the question: will he first be established in a Spider-Man sequel? The man in the hat was verified in Spidey 2 as Gustav Fiers aka The Gentleman, which he is a key element on bringing the Sinister Six gang together.

He was then asked about Peter’s romantic life for the sequels, given the events of Spidey 2 with him and Gwen Staci, and the fact that Mary Jane was cut out of the movie entirely.

Will Peter Parker love again? When [relationships] end, it’s very difficult to imagine emerging from that. I think that’s, emotionally, where he’s going to start off in the next movie.

Amazing Spider-Man 3 will hit theaters June 10th, 2016, so we will have to wait two more years to get these answers.
