We all know DC has a lot of catching up to when it comes to matching movie wits with Marvel Studios. They already have a sequel to The Avengers coming out before we get our second chapter in the DC Universe. So how can DC match what Marvel Studios is doing without completely copying their format? Kevin Smith chimed in about what they are doing over there at Warner Bros., and I think it is the only way.

They’re obviously beginning something, and there’s a stretch of these flicks, and so this is the beginning of the Justice League, as we all suspected as they were announcing that cast. We were like, ‘This is the beginning of a Justice League movie.’ From what I understand now, it’s no longer like, ‘This is Superman 2.’ They’re not doing these things. They’re doing like, ‘Here’s Man of Steel. Here’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ The next one is not like a sequel to one of the characters. They’re just going to keep building their universe for about five or six movies. But all of them…it’s supposed to tell one massive story, which is all Justice League oriented.

Six movies?! I like it! Imagine: six movies that focus on a different Justice League member, but some of the others join in, in the events that happen in that movie. The Avengers world doesn’t have that. How many times have you asked yourself; why aren’t any of the other Avengers helping Thor out right now? Or Iron Man right now? I think DC will incorporate that in these movies, and it will be one giant story that leads to an ultimate climax.

Smith also talked about the new title for Batman v. Superman, and actually agrees with what I had to say about it.

It’s a bit of a mouthful. And also, I don’t know why Batman v Superman. Why not just throw the “s” in there? Or spell it or something like that. Or honestly, every comic book fan on the planet, who is a DC comic book fan, I think we all wanted to see Batman/Superman: World’s Finest.

I too, was wondering if they were just going to go with World’s Finest, but I am actually okay with the title. We just need that S back in the title and we will be happy. Let me know what you think about what he said about the Justice League world. also, give a listen to my Film Junkee Quick Fix below to hear what I have to say about all this.
