The Flash Movie May Get Spider-Man Homecoming Writers to Direct

I’m going to refuse calling it “Flashpoint” because my fears of WB stripping that story down are being realized. Robert Zemeckis was rumored to be doing the Flash movie which fans were pretty okay with. Apparently Affleck was also rumored (briefly) to direct but now we have the Spider-Man Homecoming screenwriters coming in to direct Flash’s first solo outing. Wise choice.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are comedy writers. That’s fine if you’re not tackling a dark story like Flashpoint. But WB hasn’t learned their lesson it seems, given they the guys who wrote the Marvel young, naive, superhero movie to come to do the DC young, naive, superhero movie after they got the Marvel team-up guy to come in and reshoot the DC team-up movie and now they got. What did WB fat-bonus, Kevin Tsujihara, say about the DC Films? Something about “not copying Marvel” and the films “having their own identity”. SO LET’S GET THOSE GUYS!

We’ll see what happens but I WILL NOT call it Flashpoint until further details.
