Bad Grandpa is the fresh contender to take on the three weekend winner Gravity in the box office this weekend, and so was The Counselor. If you guys checked out my review of The Counselor, you can probably guess it was not going to be much of a contender for the space adventure.
Bad Grandpa was successful at defeating Gravity over the weekend, by pulling in a nice chunk of change that was $32 million. Gravity did not slow down at all though. It still managed the second place position with another $20.3 million, bringing its overall earnings to $200 million. Here is how the rest of the top five held out this weekend.
- Bad Grandpa – $32 million
- Gravity – $20.3 million
- Captain Phillips – $11.8 million
- The Counselor – $ 8 million
- Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 – $6.1 million
