Warner Bros. and DC have a lot of catching up to do in the superhero movie game. Obviously the Man Of Steel has begun to pave the way for the Justice League movie, and Batman Vs. Superman gets DC and Warner Bros. much closer to that goal. Guillermo del Toro is still in the mix of writing Justice League Dark, and recently he had some updates for us concerning the DC Universe.
We’re still on (Justice League Dark), writing, and hopefully it will happen but there are no developments that are new. We’re still at Warner Bros., they are making plans for the entire DC universe. All the superheroes, all the mythologies, and part of that is Justice League Dark. They’re planning on TV, movies, and all the media, so we have to fit into that plan.
The TV portion of Warner Bros. plan has already successfully been set in motion, with Arrow hitting its second season and ratings being better than ever. A Flash spin-off is already in the works, but I wonder if the actors portraying those characters in the TV shows will show up in the movies as well. It would definitely make more sense if that were the case, but I guess we will have to wait and see about that.
Guillermo del Toro plans on bringing John Constantine, Swamp Thing, The Demon, Deadman, The Spectre, Zatara and Zatanna, to the big screen with Justice League dark, but we probably most likely will not be seeing them until 2016.
