With all the Wonder Woman, Nightwing, and batsuit hoopla coming from the Batman Vs. Superman world, we tend to forget that Lex Luthor will be present in the movie. Casting rumors surfaced a couple months ago suggesting that Bryan Cranston or Mark Strong were candidates for the coveted role. Strong was my number one choice to rock the Luthor, but then new information was suggesting that Lost star Terry O’Quinn was up for the role.
A trusted source to Movieweb.com says that Terry O’Quinn has never been considered for the Lex Luthor role. Instead The Following’s star James Purefoy was the frontrunner for the role which I can actually see. Hopefully he looks good bald, but I have seen him an a few roles where he is the antagonist and he plays it very well. Sadly, Purefoy has decided not to take the part, so we are back to square one. In the mean time, here is what was said about Lex Luthor:
Lex Luthor isn’t gonna be focusing on real estate, like he has in past Superman films. This time, Lex’s motivations will be rooted on his belief that Superman is not good for mankind. The Lex that you will see, will resemble characteristics from Grant Morrison’s All-Star Superman, which was made into a full-length animated feature in 2011. (Again, this indicates that there is going to be a tie-in between DC’s live action and animated universe, something else we’ve heard is false.) [Lex Luthor is] the pride of Metropolis. The people love him, he’s been helping out a lot. Even Lois thinks he’s a good guy initially. He is a very smart man and has a lot of charisma.
Lex likes to dabble in “fringe” science. This is the side of him the people of Metropolis do not see. In one particular scene, Lex will ask his LexCorp scientists if they can recreate Kryptonian armor. Lex says to them, “When the world realizes what he truly is, they will need someone to stand up to him.” When one of scientists ask if he is that someone, Lex replies, “Is there any other person who can?”
If that was not enough for you, there are Flash rumors that came about as well. The Barry Allen Flash is supposed to make a cameo in the movie, not wearing the costume, but just to show us that he is part of this world. Warner Bros. wants Grant Gustin for Flash which is an awesome choice considering he is playing the character on the TV show Arrow. Eventually there will be a Flash show spin-off, and finally DC is using their heads. Let’s not only crossover in movies, but also through the hit TV shows. This will only mean that Stephen Amell who plays Green Arrow in the show will show up in the Justice League movie.
Now on to Wonder Woman, which we have heard a lot about in the recent weeks. According to sources, Wonder Woman will be present in Batman Vs. Superman, but not in her costume neither. She will be addressed as Diana, which is smart considering we are already getting enough with our two favorite crime fighters. These sources are also stating that Bruce Wayne’s love interest and Wonder Woman are two different parts, and they are actually seeking an African-American actress for the love interest part.
So many details you got to wonder which ones are true. It just gets me even more excited for the movie, and I am sure you die-hard fans are too. Let me know what your thoughts are about all of this.

I think these rumors are true because Del Toro said that WB is planning an Entire DC universe through television and movies and other related media.
