Let’s face facts; Hollywood is going to remake everything whether we like it or not. If remakes didn’t exist, we would have a lot less movies to go watch, and less movies to bitch about. It really can be a win-win situation when it comes to remakes, because if it’s a good remake, people will flock to it. If its a terrible remake, people will still flock to it to see the disaster. Now the 80’s classic Roadhouse staring Patrick Swayze is getting the remake treatment, and I could get behind it if they would not use the director they hired on.
Rob Cohen will be in the director’s chair for the Roadhouse remake, and he’s directed such gems as the first Fast and the Furious movie, xXx, and the most recent Alex Cross, which was a huge bomb. Hopefully Cohen will tone down the style he used in those first two movies, because the script is calling for more of a straightforward thriller type of movie. No word on who take the leading role in the remake, but hopefully that guy can pull off some roundhouse kicks. Let me know your thought about this idea.
