Paul Rudd has officially been cast as Ant-Man! There were rumors that the Anchorman 2 star was a frontrunner for the role, alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but then there were rumors that debunked that. Well we can put those rumors to bed, because The Wrap has confirmed Rudd for the part.
Ant-Man’s alter ego is Hank Pym, who discovers the ability to shrink himself down to the size of a…you guessed it…an ant. Test footage was already shot by co-writer and director, Edgar Wright, just so he could show people that this hero can be brought to the big screen. Edgar Wright is perfect to direct this movie, and you probably agree after seeing Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, or really any of his movies. Ant-Man will be the first in the Marvel universe to get the Phase Three movies underway, after Avengers: Age of Ultron hits the theaters.
Filming is set to begin in Georgia next year, and it will see a July 31st, 2015 release. Let me know what you think about the news.
