Batman Vs. Superman rumors keep on coming my friends. This new one is definitely a doozy. Seems that Nuke The Fridge is stating that well-known Academy Award winning actor, Denzel Washington, is up for the role of the John Stewart Green Lantern. How ridiculous does that sound? None of this has been confirmed whatsoever of course, but having the Green Lantern join the movie has been mentioned many times before.
Denzel was first rumored when there was word that Warner Bros. was seeking out a black Lex Luthor. Seemed legit since they did that with the Perry White character in Man of Steel, but now they are suggesting Green Lantern? I bet Denzel is laughing his ass off right now hearing about all this. The man is almost 60 years-old, so I highly doubt they would go for a Green Lantern at that age, even though Washington has aged well.
Apparently there has also been word that Warner Bros. has been leaking casting rumors to throw us off, and that is actually made true with the Wonder Woman casting. There were a few names that were thrown out there, but Gal Gadot’s name was not one of them. Same thing happened for Batman before Affleck was cast, when names such as Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin were tossed around everywhere, and then Affleck seemed to come out of nowhere. There was information before Affleck was cast that he was in talks with Warner Bros. about a project, but everyone seemed to speculate he was in talks to direct the Justice League movie.
Don’t take all this seriously guys. It is truly a silly rumor. I am sure they are casting for the John Stewart Green Lantern, but I am sure they will go for a younger actor. Let me know your thoughts about this though.
