I normally don’t care when another director of a shared universe praises another movie because you think, “he’s being paid to say that, of course.” When it comes to James Gunn praising Captain America Civil War, I don’t think he was paid to say what he said. Gunn during a Q&A stated that Captain America Civil War is “one of the best Marvel movies ever” and that Tom Holland as Spider-Man is “off the charts awesome and amazing.” Tom Holland caught wind of Gunn’s compliments and thanked him on Twitter. That makes me happy.
