Independence Day Resurgence came out this weekend a week before the actual holiday weekend. I guess they wanted to build a crowd, but the big crowd didn’t show up to see the sequel 20 years in the making. It brought in $41.6 million which isn’t bad for your normal flick, but this is a blockbuster sequel. The production budget was $165 million and you better believe the marketing put it past $200 Million. I don’t think the movie is going to have legs given the Rotten Tomatoes rating being low on both the critics and the audience side. They tried.
