It is time to bust out that BOOMSTICK!. Army Of Darkness 2 has been finally confirmed by the man himself, Bruce Campbell, and fans of the cult classic are doing their happy dances.

A few months ago when the Evil Dead remake was about to release, Campbell actually mentioned the plans for the Evil Dead saga. He mentioned they wanted to do a sequel to Army Of Darkness, as well as a sequel to the Evil Dead remake. They then would have the two worlds crossover into one and other, for a crazy conclusion to the stories that involve that book bound in flesh. It was not confirmed that this would happen, but Campbell recently answered questions at the Wizard World National, and he was asked the pressing question about the sequel and here is what he had to say:

The last one was twenty-two years ago. I just haven’t been racing to do it. Sam Raimi is just a little bit busy making the biggest movies in Hollywood. I use to be busy. Now I’m not. That’s why I’m here.

Campbell then went on to joke about Ash, and how he is much older than the last time we have seen him fight the deadites:

Ash would have to stop occasionally from chasing some deadite to catch his breath. Maybe we could do that, I guess. That would be exciting. Fight in a walker. That would be alright. Hit them with my cane. Fake them out, have a fake heart attack, distract a zombie. I like it.

Who does not love this guy? Loving the funny attitude he has for reprising the roll of Ash. I still remember after Freddy Vs. Jason came out, there were rumors that there was going to be a sequel with the horror giants, and Ash would be thrown in the mix for a three-way battle of awesomeness. That of course did not happen. Campbell then went on to say, “Alright sir, the answer is yes,” so it looks like we see more chainsaw, boomstick fun in the future. Let me know what you think about this.
