The LEGO Movie Goes for a 3-Peat this Weekend [Box Office]

The Box office results are in, and it’s time to see if The LEGO Movie takes the top spot for a third weekend in a row. Newcomers, 3 Days to Kill and Pompeii, try to take the blockbuster down, and they didn’t even come close. 3 Days to Kill made it in second place with $12.3 million, which wasn’t even half of what LEGO did. Pompeii can be considered a bomb bringing in only $10 million with its $80 million budget, which I could of easily predicted. Paul W.S. Anderson directed that movie, and I still wonder how he gets work still.

McG was the one who directed 3 Days to Kill, and he is another one of those directors that just does over the top action, and has cheesy stories. He is also the one who killed the Terminator franchise with Salvation, but at least he had Kevin Costner to help him sell his movie. Here is the rest of the box office this weekend.

  1. The LEGO Movie – $31.3 million – TOTAL – $183.2 million
  2. 3 Days to Kill – $12.3 million – TOTAL- $12.3 million
  3. Pompeii – $10 million – TOTAL – $10 million
  4. RoboCop – $9.4 million – TOTAL – $43.6 million
  5. The Monuments Men – $8.1 million – TOTAL – $58 million
  6. About Last Night – $7.4 million – TOTAL – $38.2 million
  7. Ride Along – $4.7 million – TOTAL – $123.2 million
  8. Frozen – $4.4 million – TOTAL – $384.1 million
  9. Endless Love – $4.2 million – TOTAL – $20.1 million
  10. A Winter’s Tale – $2.1 millin – TOTAL – $11.2 million

So let me know what you guys saw this weekend, and what your thoughts were about them. Watch my Sunday box office report video below to hear gripe more about Paul W.S. Anderson.
