Suicide Squad Reshoots Happening because it Needs More ‘Fun’ and ‘Humor’

Suicide Squad Reshoots Happening because it… by filmjunkee

I was afraid the negativity surrounding Batman v Superman’s going to bleed over to Suicide Squad, but how could that happen after what we have seen? Well it did, guys. And I can’t even begin to understand it.

Apparently Suicide Squad has scheduled reshoots according to Birth.Death.Movies, and the reasoning behind it is because the movie needs more fun and humor. Now obviously this has to do with Batman v Superman not being fun and humorous, but are you kidding me? THE JOKER IS IN THIS MOVIE. They claim that all the jokes in the movie were in that last trailer. We heard the Joker say ONE line. And it wasn’t even a joke. So either they completely swung and missed with the Joker, or this news is complete BS. It’s complete BS.

These reshoots were apparently scheduled before Batman v Superman came out, and it had to do with the actor playing Killer Croc and his schedule. There’s no way this movie isn’t fun and funny. It’s a dark comedy in a villain superhero world. How does no one see that there is an obvious hate for WB/DC movies?

Jared Leto talked to Entertainment Weekly about playing the Joker:

You just knew you had to do something different. You had to make it your own. That happens all the time. Whether you’re a composer working on a piece of music that was written a century ago, or you’re an actor on stage, reinterpreting a play, it’s very common these days. Directors take on great works of cinema, actors reinterpret roles, that’s been going on for a great deal of time. From Scarface to Hamlet. In some ways it’s really interesting to reinterpret, redefine. It’s a weighty thing to do. But it’s exciting. The Joker is one of those roles. He was written brilliantly when he was first shared with the world 75 years ago, or something crazy like that. And I think I’m just really grateful I had the opportunity.
