Reboot has become one of those words that is always getting tossed around Hollywood these days. If a franchise tanks…REBOOT IT! Nothing wrong with that, if the reboot does indeed make a franchise better. Fantastic Four definitely needed a reboot, and I am surprised the original movie got itself a sequel. Come on…The Thing not being CG and just Michael Chiklis in a foam rubber suit, was just an asinine idea that someone should have been fired for.
Fox has begun its narrowing down process for the lead roles in the reboot, and some names might be recognizable to you. For Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, they have been looking at Game of Thrones Kit Harington, Jack O’Connell and Miles Teller. Teller has been long rumored to helm the Mr. Fantastic role for quite some time now. Sue Storm/Invisible Girl might go to Saoirse Ronan, Kate Mara or Margot Robbie. I vote Kate Mara, because I would love to see her in a skin tight jumpsuit.
For Johnny Storm/Human Torch, there have been rumors about Michael B. Jordan taking the flame-on role. You might remember him from Chronicle, or recently for is acclaimed performance in Fruitvale Station. No word yet on The Thing, but we know they will be making that character full CG this time, so not much needed from an actor there.
The movie is due out March 6, 2015, so casting still has some time. Let me know what you think about these choices, or even throw some of your picks my way as well.
