Thor: The Dark World is not premiering in the states for another week still, but the sequel is already hitting the ground running in the international market. The Demigod has already earned $45.2 million, which is a pretty fantastic start considering it has not debuted here yet. Here are the current numbers from the countries it is playing in:

  • UK $7.8 million
  • France $5.8 million
  • Germany $4.1 million
  • Australia $2.9 million
  • Korea $2.6 million
  • Philippines $2.6 million
  • Mexico $1.9 million
  • Brazil $1.7 million
  • Spain $1.7 million
  • Taiwan $1.6 million
  • Russia $1.5 million
  • Malaysia $1.5 million
  • Singapore $1.2 million
  • Sweden $1.2 million
  • Other $7.1 million
  • Total $45.2 million

So we still got until Friday to check out the next episode in Phase 2, and I am sure it will do well over here in the states. Lots of positive reviews are bringing the movie up to an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, so that will hopefully pull in more moviegoers to check it out. I am pretty anxious to see it myself. Let me know if you plan on checking it out next weekend.
