Well this is something many of us did not want to hear. Seems that Bruce Campbell is killing dreams everywhere when it comes to Army Of Darkness 2, saying that all the info we have gotten recently is all “internet B.S.” Here is what he had to say:
It’s not news. Let me dispel that right now. It’s all internet B.S. There’s no reality whatsoever. These random comments slip out of my mouth or Sam Raimi’s mouth, next thing you know, we’re making a sequel. So unless it’s announced from Renaissance Pictures, it’s not real. Or unless you have a start date or a release date. We do appreciate people’s enthusiasm for another ‘Army Of Darkness,’ but they should just wait until it’s real. And I feel bad for people because the Internet is so prey to misinformation. So I just encourage to get the real information, not just … if you heard something.
That is just discouraging, especially after telling fans at a Q&A panel when asked about the sequel, and answering “the answer is YES.” We then got word that Sam Raimi was writing the sequel, and that Fede Alvarez, the director of the Evil Dead remake, told fans on twitter that he will not be directing Army Of Darkness 2, but Sam Raimi will return. Then again, this could be Campbell’s idea of a terrible joke to his fans, since he is the one that started all this hype with that YES answer. Why call his own answers internet B.S.? Something is quite fishy here, and as soon as I found out more about this I will you guys know.
