What can end a relationship among friends? Money. And that is what Terrence Howard is claiming that Robert Downey Jr. chose instead of welcoming him into the sequels of Iron Man as Captain James Rhodes. Terrence Howard finally admitted to everyone on why he was not in the Iron Man sequels while promoting his new movie Best Man Holiday. Rumors suggested that Howard himself wanted more money than was initially promised to him for Iron Man 2, but Howard says it was not that at all. Here is what he had to say about it:

Well, it turns out…and this is gonna get me in a lot of trouble. It turns out that the person that I helped becomeĀ Iron Man, when it was time to re-up for the second one took the money that was supposed to go to me and pushed me out. We did a three picture deal. You did the deal ahead of time. A certain amount for the first one. For the second a certain amount. For the third…they came to me for the second one and said, ‘We will pay you 1/8th of what we contractually had for you, because we think the second one will be successful with or without you.’ And I called my friend who I helped get the first job and he didn’t call me back for three months.

Ouch. Betrayed because of money. Now of course, we will never know what actually happened, but to finally come out and say this might give Howard some credibility. As much as we don’t want to think of Robert Downey Jr. as a greedy actor, it might be the case since it took him awhile to sign on for the Avengers sequels. Howard went on to answer the question about this “friend” and his relationship with him by saying, “Oh, I love him. God’s gonna bless him.” Yeah he said that in a very sarcastic tone, so let’s just say they are not friends anymore. Let me know your thoughts about this.
