Garbage Pail Kids. Who remembers the Garbage Pail Kids? I certainly do, and I probably have a box of these cards somewhere in a garage collecting dirt. You want to feel old? They are turning 30 Years old in 2015! My hip hurts.
To celebrate their 30th birthday, the creators want to make a documentary about the grossed out versions of your sister’s dolls. They have seek the help from from Adam F. Goldberg, who created the new ABC The Goldbergs, and Joe Simko and his filming crew. They still need our help to finance the movie though, and they have started a Kickstarter to raise $75,000. As of now, they have exceeded $13,000, and they have until January 5th to raise the money.
What the documentary will feature, is interviews from the original creators of the popular trading cards, and the controversy surrounding them. They will also explore the huge response to the disgusting kids, and the backlash they received after being introduced in the 80s.
