Joaquin Phoenix is getting tons of buzz about his performance in the upcoming Spike Jonze’s movie, Her. He is a shoe in for another oscar nomination for that role according to early critic reviews, but it looks like Warner Bros. wants him to play a role in Batman Vs. Superman. Hope he looks good bald.
Now it hasn’t been fully confirmed of course, but Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. is highly considering Phoenix for the central villain of the movie. It has been long rumored that the central villain will be Lex Luthor, but since there are three confirmed heroes in the movie, it is most likely going to be at least two villains.
I think Phoenix as Luthor is a pretty good choice, because Phoenix’s last few movies have seen some pretty stellar performances. And yes, I am even talking about the documentary, “I’m Still Here”. Also take the fact that he was nominated for an Oscar as playing the cold-hearted Commodus in Gladiator into consideration.
