Fans of the original Independence Day will be happy to know that Jeff Goldblum plans on reprising his role as David Levinson in Independence Day 2. He has been in talks with Emmerich and crew, but there is another sequel he has heard nothing from, yet he is okay with that. That sequel of course, is Jurassic World.
Yeah, they’ve talked to me about it and I’ve talked to them about it and they’re excited and I’m anxious and eager to see — I haven’t read anything — what they cook up. You know, I think they’re trying to put it together.
That was mentioned by Goldblum while doing press for his upcoming movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and also had this to say about Jurassic World.
Yeah…they haven’t called me for “4,” I know Steven Spielberg isn’t directing it …No, nobody asked me, but I was perfectly satisfied with the two that I did. I’m still satisfied with that and I’ll be the first in line to see anything else, so, you know.
He was then asked if Spielberg not directing the third movie was the reason why he didn’t returned, he answered with being happy with just starring in two movies. Makes sense, sometimes you don’t want to over stay your welcome, and the third one kind of blew. Let me know your thoughts about him returning for Independence Day 2.

There couldn’t be another independence day movie with without him he is the go to what if might be damm it I was right guy … Now in part two I would love to see how this character plays out already in in a similar situation will he crack like he did in the first one or will he stand and deliver with the confidence of a man that’s been down this road before
