Alright guys. We finally have an answer on what Arnold is going to play when it comes to the new Terminator: Genesis movie. Given the actor’s advanced age, trying to throw make-up on him or doing some sort of CGI crafty-ness, the movie would be ridiculous, and we all would laugh our asses off. Then I kept hearing rumors that he would play the man the T-800s were based off of, which I thought might work for the flick. Little did I know there was a deleted scene from Terminator 3 that showed this man the T-800s were based off of, and I went, no that won’t work. The scene is featured below, and when you watch it you will see why they will not be going with that story. Still watch it. Pretty hilarious.
Arnold talked to MTV recently and he finally cleared the confusion of what he will play in the new movie.
Terminator deals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800 and then what that model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie. The way that the character is written, it’s a machine underneath. It’s this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator’s flesh ages, just like any other human being’s flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages.
There you have my friends. The machine underneath never wears and tears, but the skin covering it acts like human skin. It really is the only way they can pull this off, but you can bet there will be a CGI young Arnold showing up with those scenes that are from the previous movies. I’ll go with this idea, because it just isn’t Terminator without Arnold.
Terminator: Genesis hits theaters July 1st, 2015, so let me know your thoughts about this choice to use Arnold.
