The Summer blockbuster season saw some pretty big movies, and some pretty smelly stinkers. Dish Network designed an infographic to show us the winners and losers, but I question some of the losers.
Iron Man 3 was of course the reigning champ of the Summer season with a staggering $174.2 million, with Man Of Steel coming in second place with 116.6 million. Critics and audiences had mixed feelings for Zack Snyder’s dark take on Superman, but the numbers speak for themselves. Fast and Furious 6 saw the best opening weekend return than any of the other Furious movies, and the surprise horror hit The Conjuring rounds out the top 10.
No shocker that the Lone Ranger was the bomb of the summer, which must make Disney kind of worried considering this is their second bomb in row with last year’s John Carter. It saddens me that Pacific Rim was considered a bomb with how good it actually was, but for some reason people felt the need to see Adam Sandler do the same old Adam Sandler thing that weekend with Grown Ups 2. Elysium is another I hate that its on the bomb list, considering a majority of the critics out there liked it, and was number 1 its opening weekend.
Let me know what your favorite move of the Summer blockbuster season was. My choice is Man Of Steel simply because I have watched about 10 times.
