Ben McKenzie has just been announced that he will play Jim Gordon in Fox’s TV show Gotham. Crazy enough, McKenzie actually voiced Batman in Batman: Year One back in 2011.
It was first rumored that Donal Logue was being sought out for Jim Gordon, but none of these blogs reporting it never put it together that this show is about a young Jim Gordon, and Logue is almost 50. Now it seems that he might be up for the role of Harvey Bullock, which is a character more fitting.
Gotham will see young Jim Gordon investigating crimes throughout Gotham, and will see a 10 year-old Bruce Wayne rise up to the rankings Batman. Villains such as Joker, Catwoman, and Penguin will see their origins played out in the series, so it definitely has the recipe for another take on the Batman mythos.
