We now have word on the status of Fast & Furious 7 after the tragic death of Paul Walker. Universal Pictures has shut down production on the sequel for an indefinite amount of time, and is looking to help out families of both men’s families. Here is the statement they released today:

Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.

Autopsy reports have also been reported from the two deaths as well. Causes of death were from traumatic and thermal injuries, so that hopefully means that neither of the men suffered in the horrible car accident. A toxicology report is still being ran to see if there was any alcohol involved, but hopefully that wasn’t the case.

Fast & Furious 7 was set to release on July 11th, 2014, but surely that date will be pushed way back. I’ll let you guys know if I hear anything else.
